Due to the anticipated popularity of this event, seats will be sold and allocated on a “first come first served” basis with the best available seat across the entire 8,000 seater Tribune.

Please note: there are no dedicated car parking or shuttle buses in operation on the night of the Musical Fireworks.

Access to and within the venue

We suggest you park in the town and enjoy what Bishop Auckland has to offer before or after you join us. According to the traffic management plan put in place by the local authority, please note that the Newton Cap Viaduct will be closed between the hours of 6pm and 8pm on the day of the event.

The town is within walking distance of our show site (.8 mile). From our venue entrance to our Ticket check, there are 500m on a gently sloped path, but bear in mind the walk back at the end of the evening is uphill.

From our Ticket check to the Tribune (seating and performance area), there is a 350-meter walk on a mostly flat path for all our guests.


The Tribune (our seating area) is comprised of 41 rows of standard raked seats, with shallow steps leading to the different sections.

For our guests who are wheelchair users, there are seats reserved on the front row (at surface level) to sit behind, (or alongside if they are available) their companion at each performance. All wheelchair users must be accompanied by a personal assistant, who is eligible for a complimentary admission ticket to sit with you.

You will need to call our Customer Care line on 01388 436036 (calls charged at local rates) to book seats in this reserved area.


The site has a very limited number of park benches, yet the Tribune will open when gates open at 5pm, should you wish to take your seats early. You are welcome to get in and out of the Tribune as many times as you wish before the performance starts.

There are toilet facilities (including disabled toilets) on site.

Tickets for Personal Assistants

Guests who may not be able to attend the show unaccompanied or require a Wheelchair space are entitled to one personal assistant ticket at no additional cost. These may be requested by downloading an Access Requirement Form here. Alternatively you may request an Access Requirement Form by calling our Customer Care Line on 01388 436036.

Please note that Personal Assistants must be able to undertake all access requirements on behalf of their companion. This includes helping their companion down the visitor path, around site and with evacuation of the site if required.

Your On Site Experience

Food & Drink

The Food Village is located behind the Tribune, where a range of food and beverages are available to purchase; for our Musical Fireworks night, our caterers include Sausages, curries, Hot Waffles and more! (with cash, credit or debit card).

We also offer a bar and sell hot and cold drinks. Drinks purchased at the Food Village can be enjoyed at your seats before and during the performance.

As food is NOT permitted in the Tribune, it should be consumed before taking your seat. You are allowed to get in and out of the Tribune as many times as you wish before the performance starts.

Food and drinks will not be available to buy from about 10 minutes before the show until the performance ends and there is no interval during the show. Food and drinks will be available to purchase after the show on your way out.

Before You Leave Home


To ensure your safety and security during your Musical Fireworks experience, we have comprehensive security measures in place, including bag and belongings search on arrival.

Only handbags and fully transparent plastic bags are allowed, provided their dimensions do not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 20cm. Should you wish to bring a bag, you must be onsite by 6pm to go through ticket check, if you are not bringing a bag please be at ticket check by 6:15pm. Please note that, regardless of their sizes, we cannot allow rucksacks, backpacks, or opaque supermarket plastic bags.

As there are no Left Luggage facilities in the grounds (except for pushchairs, wheelchairs and walking aids), we reserve the right to confiscate any forbidden item at security check; regretfully, confiscated items cannot be returned on exit.

Please note: there is no picnic area and food & drink are not allowed to be brought on site beyond Ticket and Security Check (except for baby food or food for medical conditions).
